Cranfield University’s original vision in establishing the Tech Park, in partnership with development partners St. Modwen, was the creation of a dynamic cluster of science, technology and knowledge-based businesses, all of which would benefit from the proximity of the University’s distinctive expertise and skills base. Value added elements of the University’s industrial, or near industrial, scale facilities are an extra benefit.

Our Innovation Centres
Innovation centres are an important first step in the regeneration of an area. By targeting SMEs, growing businesses and specific sectors, they help to keep and generate skills in the region and boost the local economy.

St. Modwen is rolling out a series of these Centres as part of its national regeneration programme and works closely with the Local Authorities in each area to ensure that the Innovation Centre is aligned with local demand. The company has already built three – in Cranfield, Longbridge and Blackburn – where hundreds of businesses are now working and flourishing and has additional Centres planned in Exeter and Weston-super-Mare.

Each Centre provides an environment where these businesses can evolve and develop. They provide flexible leases and a full range of ready made business services, including internet and phone support, PR, website space, reception, meeting rooms, security and waste disposal.

The reduced overheads, and the ability to plan financial forecasting better, are a huge advantage, as is a favourable location.
